Department Goal

It is our goal to encourage and promote responsible development to meet the opportunities of Sherman's future and to collaboratively work with city leaders, citizens and developers to create a place where people live, work and play in a safe environment.

Services

  • Working with appointed boards, commissions and committees to ensure development-related issues are resolved in an expedient and professional manner
  • Issuing permits for construction, renovation, electrical, plumbing, irrigation, HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning), certificates of occupancy and signs
  • Ensuring that all construction occurs in accordance with all applicable laws, ordinances and building codes
  • Maintenance and enforcement of all development-related ordinances
