Signs are regulated within the City of Sherman to promote health, safety, comfort, convenience and general welfare and to ensure that signs are compatible with adjacent uses without creating confusion, or unsightliness.
When Permits Are Required
A sign permit is required for the installation or refacing of any signs in commercial and manufacturing zoning districts. If you are not sure if you need a permit, please contact us at building@cityofsherman.com.

Prohibited Signs
- Signs are not permitted in any public rights-of-way in the City of Sherman
- Banners, pennants, searchlights or other wind-driven signs are prohibited
