Residential Rental Property License and Standards

At the City Council meeting on February 5, 2024, Council approved Article 3.11 of Ordinance 6691 regarding Residential Rental properties.  Article 3.11 Residential Rental Property License and Standards is effective immediately.    Article 3.11

The purpose of this article is to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of the City by establishing minimum standards governing the construction, use, occupancy, management, operation and maintenance of multi-family dwelling complexes; by establishing additional standards governing utilities, facilities, and other physical components and conditions essential to make multi-family dwelling complexes safe, sanitary and fit for human use, occupancy and habitation.

The Residential Rental Property License and Standard Ordinance only applies to multi-family complexes; single-family rental units are exempt from this ordinance at this time.

Landlords/Managers shall be registered no later than April 5, 2024, by visiting MYGOV.
